Ruth Haeusler studied Psychology and Business Management at the Universities of Berne and Basle in Switzerland. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Berne. She chairs the CRM/HF Advisory Group for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in Switzerland. She is a member of the EASA Human Factors Advisory Group (EHFAG) and former board member of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP). She has teaching and research experience focusing on the following topics:

• Team co-ordination and team performance
• Human Factors and safety science
• Root cause analysis
• Training, human performance and expertise
• Performance appraisal and development of performance measurement systems
• Task and job analysis, work design

She collaborated in the GIHRE project („Group Interaction in High Risk Environment“) launched by the Gottlieb Daimler- and Karl Benz foundation contributing a simulator study on team work in the cockpit under high task load.

Patrick Gruber joined the Swiss Air Force in 1991. After completion of the training he flew operational on different fighter jets and multi crew jets.
He was trained as flight instructor on several jets and simulators. Flying as flight instructor he started to specialize in teaching and learning and focused on the human factor.
He completed education as Crew Resource Management Trainer and became head of CRM training at the Swiss Air Force. For the Federal Office of Civil Aviation he acts as a CRM Examiner.
Focusing on the Human Factor in safety he became a flight safety officer and started to investigate incidents.
