Ruth Haeusler

Ruth Haeusler studied Psychology and Business Management at the Universities of Berne and Basle in Switzerland. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Berne. She chairs the CRM/HF Advisory Group for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in Switzerland. She is a member of the EASA Human Factors Advisory Group (EHFAG) and former board member of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP). Ruth collaborated in the GIHRE project („Group Interaction in High Risk Environment“) launched by the Gottlieb Daimler- and Karl Benz foundation contributing a simulator study on team work in the cockpit under high task load.

Patrick Gruber

Patrick Gruber joined the Air Force in 1991. After completing pilot training he flew on different fighter - and multi crew - jets. He acted as flight instructor on fast jets and simulators. Flying as flight instructor he started to focus on the Human Factor. Patrick became a Crew Resource Management Trainer and the Air Force’s head of CRM training. For the Federal Office of Civil Aviation he acted as a CRM Examiner. As Flight Safety Officer Patrick focused especially on Human Factor aspects and started to investigate incidents. He completed his MSc in Aviation Safety Management with a project on measuring operator behaviour focusing on safe and efficient behaviour.

Dieter Eppler

Dieter Eppler, born in 1957, is a captain on Airbus 330/340 for a major airline. In his career, Dieter flew as a militia pilot fighter jets as the De Havilland Venom and the Hawker Hunter. In civil aviation Dieter has a profound experience as instructor and examiner. He specialized in training instructors, designing courses, qualification systems and is an expert on Evidence Based Training EBT. During five years Dieter collected experiences at Etihad being a pilot, flight safety officer and human factor expert as well as investigator.

Alain Kühni

Alain Kühni has a broad operational and managerial background in military and civil aviation. Following a classical pilot career he joined the Airforce and flew fighters operationally as well as flight instructor. Alain changed to civil aviation in 1995 and executed next to flying airliners different functions as aircraft manager and expert in Air Traffic Management. He studied two semesters psychology and philosophy at the University of Lausanne. Now Alain flies as a commander on A320 for a main carrier.

Urs Straumann

Urs Strauman was born 1960. As a militia pilot on fighter jets he flew mainly Hawker Hunter. Later he became an instructor and examiner on the Pilatus PC-7 turboprop. In this role he also instructed and checked F/A-18 pilots in the area of civil-IFR.
Full-time he works for a major airline as CMD 777 again as TRI/SFE. In the field of military and civil aviation he has longstanding experience in course designing, CRM-instructor and instructor training.
